Declined after the work
The job is done. The charge isn’t.
Hi Alex — the card on file didn’t go through for Thursday’s $95. Can you try another card, or a transfer? The work is done; this is just the payment.
Card didn’t go through
You already ran the card. It failed. This is not a first invoice, and it isn’t a weeks-old overdue nudge. It’s the decline.
Name the amount. Don’t invent a late fee.
Tried again
You already retried. Same result.
I ran the card again this morning and it was declined. No extra fee. I just need a different way to take the $180.
Processor said no
Keep it factual. They can reply with another method.
Payment didn’t clear — the processor said the card was declined. Reply with another card or a transfer and I’ll close it out.
