The work is fine. The drive isn’t. Ask before you go, and keep the trip
charge separate from the job price.
Name the extra, and that it sits on top of the work itself.
Ask before you drive
Don’t show up and add it after.
Hi Jordan — that address is farther than my usual area. I can still do it with a $40 travel fee on top of the job. Say if that’s alright before I drive.
Two numbers
Job, then trip, then total. So they can say no to the drive.
Because you’re outside my usual range, I add $25 for the extra distance. The repair itself is still $180. Total $205 if you want me out there.
You can decline
No hard feelings if the trip charge kills it.
I don’t usually take jobs that far. I can, with a $60 trip charge. If that’s too much, no hard feelings — I just can’t eat the drive.
